Pacific Title and Art Studios, which has been working on postproduction of Hollywood features for 90 years, will close its doors and liquidate its assets.
Variety reports that Pac Title CEO David McCarthy informed the company’s employees of the move Monday, explaining in an email that a hoped-for infusion of cash had not materialized.
The studio, founded in 1919 by Leon Schlesinger — who would go on to direct many of the great Warner Bros. animated shorts — will complete this month all its current projects or transfer the assets to other studios for completion.
Originally founded to create titles for film credit sequences, Pac Title in recent years moved into visual effects, digital intermediate services, restoration and trailer work.

Leon Schlesinger was not the director of the great Warner Bros. animated shorts... he was only the PRODUCER.
