Souped-Up Toon Boom Studio 5 Drops

Toon Boom Animation today released Toon Boom Studio 5, a completely rebranded update of its popular animation software.

Chief among the program’s new features is a stop-motion animation capability, and a simplified user interface that makes it easier to use for hobbyists and pros alike.

Toon Boom Studio 5’s features include:

• Time-lapse imagery
• Live view/image capture, which lets you see images exactly as they will appear in the movie
• The ability to change backgrounds using chroma key screens (green- and bluescreens)
• Tools to position and align elements using onion skinning
• Rotoscoping that takes advantage of actual imagery to better position your characters
• Improved image playback optimization
• Annotation layers for feedback
• The ability to easily export animation directly to YouTube or Facebook
• Tools to import Flip Boom Classic and Animation-ish projects to bring them to the next level
• An enhanced, colorful user Interface
