Famed indie animator/director Bill Plympton, who has twice earned Oscar nods (for Guard Dog in 2004 and Your Face in 1987) as well as tons of top animation awards across the globe, is now offering a master class on the secrets of animation. The course will cover the artistic tricks of design, storyboards, directing, drawing and editing alongside writing techniques and the ins and outs of the indie animation business, from budgeting and funding to festivals and distribution.

Operating as The Bill Plympton School of Animation, the 14-week class will run every Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the famous Plymptoons Studio located in New York, N.Y.’s Chelsea neighborhood. Classes begin September 16 and are limited to 15 students, so early booking is recommended—tuition is $1,000 per student.

It may sound e`pensive but it breaks down to less than a hundred bucks per two hour se!sion. People with Plymplon\\\'s level o$ ongoin% succes!ful production skill rarely teach. It should be a worthy endeavor for t ose who can make it to YC and have the ready cash.
