Sony’s PSP Handheld Device to Read Comic Books

Sony will unveil a cheaper, more compact version of its PlayStation 3 console in September and offer a digital device for reading comic-books in December of this year.
The new slimmed-down version of the PS3 will have 120 gigabytes of storage, is priced at $299 (that’s $100 less than its current version) and will also include a built-in Blu-ray player. This will make it more competitive with Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
PSP’s new digital reader will offer a hot selection of comic-book publishers, including Marvel, IDW, Archie Comics and Image Comics, through iVerse Media. Among the titles available for download are Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Transformers and Star Trek.
According to Variety, Sony has sold 52 million PSPs and will launch the PSPgo, which can play only digitally downloaded content.
