Tokyo Onlypic Is Critics’ Pick at Korea’s CinDi

Japanese director’s Mashima Riichiro’s 2008 movie Tokyo Onlypic has received the Green Chameleon Award from a jury of international critics at the third edition of Korea’s Cinema Digital Seoul (CinDi).

This anthology-style movie centers on a fictitious and hilarious alternative sporting event using a clever mix of animation, CG and live-action. The Dentsu production will be released in the U.S. by Geneon. Riichiro explored similar themes in his two previous films Ski Jumping Pairs (2002) and Ski Jumping Pairs: The Road to Torino (2006).

CinDi showcased 92 films from 17 countries, 15 in competition, in seven days.
