Warner Home Video and The LEGO Group will release the feature length DVD Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu on March 27, 2012 (priced at $14.97). The animated DVD movie follows four ninjas in training who must protect the world of Ninjago from underworld invaders. Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu also includes a blooper reel as part of the DVD special features.
The movie’s plot centers on how Sensei Wu and a group of young men battle Evil Lord Garmadon (Wu’s brother) and his army of skeletons to stop him from capturing the prized Weapons of Spinjitzu and take over Ninjago. In order to defeat Lord Garmadon’s reign of dark power, Sensei Wu trains Kai, Jay, Zane and Cole in the ancient art of Spinjitzu. If the young ninjas do not succeed at their mission, then they risk the entire fate of Ninjago and losing the four powerful weapons forever.
“Warner Home Video is excited to bring the hugely popular Ninjago brand to home entertainment for the first time,” said Jeff Brown, WHV exec vp and general manager of family, animaton and TV marketing. “Families expect quality entertainment from both of our brands and will see that in the release of LEGO Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu.”
Ninjago has quickly become one of the top grossing LEGO brands in history with five Ninjago products currently in LEGO’s top 20 products. In addition to a successful product line, Cartoon Network is set to debut a new television series inspired by Ninjago this December.
