Two new, original morning blocks have been added to 24-hour preschool broadcast destination PBS KIDS Sprout as part of the new fall programming initiative. Available on TV, on demand and online at SproutOnline.com, the channel kicks off Musical Mornings and The Sunny Side Up Show, as well as a new season of the hit nighttime block The Good Night Show with host Nina and her puppet sidekick, Star.
Airing every weekday morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. (ET) Musical Mornings is designed to get kids up and moving for the day ahead. Immediately afterward, The Sunny Side Up Show will broadcast live until noon, helping preschoolers through the day with greetings, contests, show & tell and an opportunity to interact live with the hosts via email submissions to SproutOnline.com. Each week, the block explores a new theme ranging from colors, numbers and letters to manners, gardening and pets. Special guests will include Sesame Street characters and Nina from The Good Night Show. Afternoons will still be devoted to music and science with The Let’s Go Show.
Also premiering within The Sunny Side Up Show is Play With Me Sesame. The feature invites children on a special, interactive playdate with Sesame Street favorites Bert, Ernie, Grover and Prairie Dawn, who encourage kids to play games, dance and complete learning-based activities.
The Good Night Show airs every night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (ET), giving parents a tool to wind their kids down after a busy day. In addition to crafts, learning exercises and nighttime stretching, the new season features a nightly animated guessing game titled Lucy, Light The Way!
PBS KIDS Sprout is the creation of a partnership between Comcast Corp., HIT Ent., PBS and Sesame Workshop. The channel is available in 34 million households, offering such favorites a Barney & Friends, Sesame Street and Teletubbies.
