Sesame Workshop and Publications International have launched a new iOS mobile app for kids starring that popular red monster muppet: Look and Find Elmo on Sesame Street. The app seeks to update the classic play-and-learn model for the digital age by teaching two- to six-year olds observation and memory skills. The app is available for iPhone and iPad in the Apple App Store at an introductory price of 99 cents.
In the learning game, children are encouraged by Elmo to search through a series of scenes to find objects “hidden in plain sight.” Gameplay options are enhanced by “secret stickers” and a memory building game. Features include: six look-and-find scenes; Super Duper hidden stickers and sticker book; Look-Look memory game; parent tips from Sesame Street education experts; and lots of encouraging words from Elmo.
“Publications International’s Look and Find print books have been a staple of Sesame Street’s publishing program for many years. The game-based approach paired with our familiar characters encourages children to stay focused and makes learning fun,” said Jennifer A. Perry Vice President, Worldwide Publishing, Sesame Workshop. “This app offers a new dynamic way to experience the original book’s skills-building game play.”
The introductory price good through March 17, 2013–thereafter pricing will be $1.99 for the standard iPhone version and $2.99 for the HD iPad version.
