The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon is in negotiations to star in the live-action/CG animation family feature Good Boy for MGM/Jim Henson Pictures.
John Hoffman will direct Zeke Richardson’s story of an alien dog who comes to Earth to find out why his fellow four-legged invaders haven’t taken over the planet yet.
Shannon will play the mother of a boy befriended by the alien canine. Good Boy will be her second film to blend live action and animation, having appeared in Warner Bros.’ Osmosis Jones.
Production begins Aug. 26 in Vancouver under the producing team of Lisa Henson and Kristine Belson, and executive producer Stephanie Allain.
