Past And Future Meet In TV Debuts

This week sees the launch of two animated series which aim to educate and entertain by transporting young viewers back to the past and shooting them way into the future.

PBS’ Liberty’s Kids explores the events behind the Revolutionary War through the eyes of three teenagers working for Benjamin Franklin’s newspaper. Featuring a host of celebrity voices, including Walter Cronkite, Annette Bening, Billy Crystal and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the series premiered on Sept. 2.

Zooming onto the small screen today is Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Based on last year’s Oscar-nominated feature, the series follows the futuristic adventures of a 10-year-old master inventor.
