The first Canadian chapter of Women in Animation will be dedicated with a launch party and membership drive on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 in Vancouver, BC.
In addition to WIA representatives Jan Nagel, Bonita Versh, Heather Kenyon and Chris Danzo, special guests will include a diverse sampling of Vancouver’s top industry professionals.
WIA hopes to attract members from Toronto and Ottawa’s large animation communities, as well as from across the rest of Canada with the formation of this new chapter. It also aims to build a much-needed network of artists, producers, directors, and other professionals for women in the industry.
A board of directors for the first Canadian chapter will be elected this fall and posted on the WIA website.
