Simpsons Going Mobile With THQ Wireless

Twentieth Century Fox and THQ Inc. entered into a multi-year agreement that gives THQ’s mobile games division worldwide rights to develop and distribute mobile content based on Fox’s long-running animated series The Simpsons.

In a press release, Fox’s VP of wireless entertainment, Jim Beddows, notes that The Simpsons is well suited for wireless content, citing the show’s wide demographic, global appeal and edgy humor.

The first Simpsons wireless service is scheduled for release to U.S. consumers in the second half of 2003. Content will include games, graphics and SMS/MMS programs utilizing a variety of characters from the show, which has surpassed 300 episodes in its 14th season.
