CinéGroupe Distribution, a division of CineGroupe, a leader in 2D, 3D and CGI imaging, signed a distribution agreement with HOLA Entertainment for Latin America and the Caribbean. The deal includes such series as Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat produced by CinéGroupe in association with the Sesame Workshop; and Pig City, a CinéGroupe/AnimaKids co-production.
Mercedes Alvarez, HOLA’s founder and president, says, “Quality animation is always in demand, especially in Latin America. I am proud that CinéGroupe has chosen me to represent their excellent programs.”
Marie-Christine Dufour, CineGroupe’s executive VP of distribution, licensing, and marketing, adds, “Mercedes offers an unbeatable combination: she has extensive experience in television sales in Latin America, and, she is based in Montreal. She will be able to build on the relationships CinéGroupe has acquired over the years and solidify our position in this growing market.”
Alvarez’ mandate will begin at the L.A. Screenings where she will continue sales efforts already underway, and initiate others with her network of contacts that she has established throughout her career in international television and video sales.
