Wilma! I forgot the @#%$&* Line! Did Fred Flintstone really say that? Well, not exactly. But he and many of his fellow Cartoon Network cohorts aren’t always word perfect. So the cabler has put together an hour of CN bloopers, set to debut this Friday, June 6 (7 p.m. ET and PT).
To produce the program, Cartoon Network creatives dug through their archives of animated outtakes for a special that delivers some of the best goof-ups in the history of animation. Network honchos promise that Cartoon Network Bloopers and Other Embarrassing Moments will include, among other things, the funniest blown lines, the worst cases of the giggles, the most devastating technical gaffes and a cavalcade of mishaps starring Wile E. Coyote. (Though considering his track record, can any gaffe be worse than flying into the side of a mountain at full speed?)
Among the stars contributing outtakes are Ed, Edd ‘n’ Eddy, The Flintstones, Johnny Bravo, Foghorn Leghorn and The Jetsons. The show will be hosted by one of the busiest guys in cartoons, Tom Kenny, who provides voices for hit series such as The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory and Codename: Kids Next Door. “Working behind the scenes on cartoons, I know better than anyone the kind of stuff that ends up on the cutting room floor,” says Kenny. “If you thought getting hit on the head with an anvil was painful, try getting one to the groin. The show will give viewers a chance to see some of the best in the business at their absolute worst.”
