Sony Online Entertainment Inc. announced that EverQuest Macintosh Edition is now available at retail stores nationwide. The leading massively multiplayer online role-playing game requires systems running Mac OS X 10.2.5 and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99.
One of the largest fantasy worlds ever created online, EverQuest is a real-time, 3D, massively multiplayer online role-playing game where hundreds of thousands of players come together to take on the personas of brave warriors and mystical wizards. They then adventure across the face of a huge world (as well as its moon and extra-planar zones), fighting hordes of monsters and uncovering treasure troves of magical artifacts. EverQuest Macintosh Edition includes EverQuest Classic and its first four expansions: The Ruins of Kunark, The Scars of Velious, The Shadows of Luclin and The Planes of Power.
Developed and published by Sony Online Entertainment Inc., EverQuest launched in 1999 and has sold more than 2 million copies. During peak periods, more than 118,000 simultaneous adventurers have explored the fully detailed world of Norrath. The active global EverQuest subscriber base of more than 430,000 players is comprised of people from 40 different countries including North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Sony Online is committed to bringing EverQuest to various entertainment platforms, releasing titles such as EverQuest Online Adventures for PlayStation 2, EverQuest for the Pocket PC and EverQuest: Hero’s Call for wireless phones. This fall, the company will launch the highly anticipated sequel, EverQuest II, for PC users around the globe.
