FUNimation Prods. Ltd, the brand management company behind such kids anime hits as Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Yu Yu Hakusho, is making an unexpected move into the video game industry. The company has been named the exclusive home video distributor of g-Net Publishing’s iGuides, DVD strategy guides for gamers. The deal covers distribution in the U.S and all English-speaking territories.
A division of g-NET Media LLC, g-NET Publishing is freshly established to produce and market video game-related home video products. Its first output, iGuides, is designed to improve upon the existing print strategy-guide format. Features include video-based instruction on controls and game-play; video-based character, enemy, weapons, items, and maps galleries; video-based walkthroughs; web-based updates and content, print and search functionality; and exclusive animated/video bonus content.
"Most gamers have no idea just how much enjoyment can be unlocked from today’s games. iGuides will shock game fans around the world by revealing all that games have to offer," says g-NET CEO David Getson.
g-NET Media is producing the first-ever Videogame Awards Show for Spike TV and is developing and producing original video programming for AOL Games, including the popular First Tip and Players Club franchises. For more information on g-NET and iGuides, visit www.g-net.tv.
