The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Disney has cast the main parts for its upcoming CG feature Chicken Little. The title role will go to Zach Braff, star of TVs Scrubs. Joan Cusack, Steve Zahn, Amy Sedaris, Don Knotts, Katie Finneran and Garry Marshall are also attached to the toon.
When the Chicken Little character design was leaked out a couple months ago, the title fowl was revealed to be a female. That has obviously changed with the casting of Braff.
Directed by Mark Dindal (The Emperors New Groove) the film expands on the classic story about an excitable chicken who frantically warns others that the sky is falling. Fed up with his ravings, the town sends him off to a special camp created for animals with problems, like the Ugly Dckling (Cusack), a pig named Runt (Zahn), Foxy Loxy (Sedaris) Goosey Lucy (Finneran) Turkey Mayor (Knotts) and Father (Marshall).
Chicken Little is expected to hit theaters in 2005.
