BAM! Entertainment will soon be publishing Bujingai:The Forsaken City for PlayStation 2, under a license from Japan-based Taito Corporation. The exact release date for May 2004 has yet to be announced.

Featuring design work from the creators of the Japanese animations Cowboy Bebop and Trigun and developed for Taito by Red Entertainment, Bujingai has received rave reviews since its release in the Asian market this past holiday season. Bujingai: The Forsaken City incorporates the best elements of Hong Kong cinema-swords, magic spells, demons, and wirework-to create a powerful game-play experience.

“BAM! is the ideal publisher to bring Bujingai to the U.S. and Canada,” says Hironori Ishii, GM of overseas releases. “Their knowledge of the North American market made them the right choice to get the game in front of an even greater audience of PlayStation 2 fans.”

Bujingai is a third-person action-adventure title that brings martial arts fantasy to life. Inspired by classic Hong Kong cinema, the player takes on the role of a spell-casting, gravity-defying warrior named Lau. Set in post-apocalyptic Asia, Lau must battle his way through an army of fiends to rescue a fellow warrior who has been possessed by a demon. Lau is able to fight multiple enemies while running, gliding, floating, and running on walls.

"Bujingai has received strong editorial acclaim since its launch in Japan and we believe that this product will have equal appeal and reception in the U.S. market." says Ray Musci, BAM! CEO. For more info, check out www.bam4fun.com.
