A new season of the cult hit animated show Home Movies rolls off the platter starting this Sunday, Jan. 11, on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim block. Among the highlights of season four is a musical performance by the band They Might Be Giants on Jan. 18.
Home Movies refers to the day-to-day trials and tribulations of a single parent household, as seen through the lens of young Brendon Smalls video camera. Brendon rolls tape and documents his recently divorced mothers difficulties in raising him and his little sister, Josie, as well as his adventures with friends Jason, Melissa and Duane. Also caught on tape is Brendon’s soccer coach, a binge drinker who gives Brendon advice about things such as porn, swords and muscle cars.
Created by Brendon Small and Loren Bouchard, Home Movies is an original production of Soup2Nuts. Targeted to adults 18-34, the series debuted on Cartoon Network in 1999 and has been awarded two Pulcinella awards and an Annecy nomination.
Soup2Nuts previously produced Comedy Centrals Peabody Award-winning animated series Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, as well as FXs The Dick and Paula Celebrity Special, ABCs childrens science show Squigglevision and Hey Monie for the Oxygen and BET Networks.
