Daily Variety reports that cable network Trio will air Shocked, a half-hour documentary on South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, on March 7. The show will chronicle the subversive duos rise from the obscurity of Internet entertainment to media mogul status.
South Park began with a crudely animated video Christmas card that got passed around Hollywood. Copies soon started popping up everywhere and the rest is the stuff of legends. In fact, many different versions of the Stone/Parker story have been passed on through the grapevine. Trio promises to offer the true facts behind the farce.
Having celebrated it 100th episode last April, South Park is now in its eighth season and will become the longest-running primetime comedy series on basic cable if Comedy Central renews it for another year.
