Kids’ WB! has released its 2004-2005 schedule, which will include two new animated series and two live-action projects. In addition to the previously announced actioner The Batman, the network will introduce the hip-hop, sci-fi animated series Da Boom Crew to its Saturday morning slate.
Produced by Jambalaya Studio/BFC Berliner Film Co., Da Boom Crew (working title) follows the intergalactic adventures of four orphans who are transported into the parallel universe that strangely resembles the video game world they’ve created. The series is created by Bruce Smith, John Patrick White and Stiles White from a concept by Serge Michaels.
Beginning this spring, Kids’ WB! will reinforce its 52-week roll-out schedule with the return of series favorites and original programming. Returning hits include the second season of the futuristic-adventure series MegaMan NT Warrior, which powers up with 26 new episodes. March will see more What’s New Scooby-Doo? and April will offer additional episodes of the animé series Astro Boy. Ozzy & Drix will return to the line-up in the summer.
New season pick-ups of Saturday morning hits include the fourth season of Yu-Gi-Oh! (52 new episodes), the seventh season of Pokémon (52 new episodes), season five of Jackie Chan Adventures (13 new episodes), season three of ¡Mucha Lucha! (13 new episodes), season two of Teen Titans, in conjunction with Cartoon Network, (13 new episodes) and a sophomore run of Xiaolin Showdown (26 new episodes).
In addition, Kids’ WB! is gearing up to air the live-action movie Zolar, from Insight Film and Television and executive producer Barry L. Levy. The pic centers on three semi-pro action sports athletes who discover their newest team member is an alien from another planet who is being pursued by evil extraterrestrials. Action sports stars such as Mike Metzger, X-Games Gold and Silver medallist for Motoross, will make guest appearances. The other live-action addition to the schedule is a hidden-camera prank show titled Gagsters, which will have a team of kids playing practical jokes on unsuspecting adults. Each week kids will get to vote online for their favorite gags, then request a prank from the team or suggest one of their own.
