The video game, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, based on the upcoming sequel to the 2000 sci-fi sleeper Pitch Black, will be the first game title from star Vin Diesel’s Tigon Studios, according to Daily Variety. Vivendi Universal Games will co-publish the release.
Tigon Studios, the first game production company to be founded by a major film star, was established in 2002. Diesel, the muscle-bound topliner of such films as XXX and A Man Apart, lends his voice and likeness to the Chronicles game, which will be released exclusively for Xbox days prior to the June 11 theatrical debut of The Chronicles of Riddick.
A prequel to both films, Escape From Butcher Bay was conceived in part by the movies writer/director David Twohy (Below, The Arrival), along with Diesel. The game pushes ahead of Trigons first announced production, an action/adventure entry titled Perrone.
