Uber-interviewer Barbara Walters is known for making some of the biggest stars turn on the waterworks, but she’s never taken a crack at a big, green ogre before. All that will change when Walters sits down with Shrek during her Oscar special this Sunday, February 29.
While the appearance will offer DreamWorks an opportunity to promote the May 21 theatrical debut of the eagerly awaited Shrek 2, it may also focus some attention on the Best Animated Feature race since Shrek took the very first award in 2001.
The Barbara Walters Special will air on ABC at 7 p.m. on the East Coast and will immediately follow the Academy awards broadcast on the West Coast.
