Softimage, the Avid subsid, says that Los Angeles-based Pandemic Studioscreators of the upcoming console titles Full Spectrum Warrior, Mercenaries and Star Wars Battlefrontis about to standardize its entire 3D pipeline with the nonlinear 3D package, SOFTIMAGE|XSI. This three phase transition, which will take place over the next six months, will replace all competitive 3D tools currently used at Pandemic Studios. Carey Chico, company co-founder and exec art director says that important XSI features that will help streamline his companys game production pipeline include, "comprehensive character tools, non-destructive animation mixing, and real-time shader tools.
Over the last six years, Pandemic veterans Josh Resnick and Andrew Goldman have built the company into one of the largest independent developers in the world, with studios in Los Angeles and in Brisbane, Australia.
