Toopy and Binoo on Tap for Spectra Animation

Spectra Animation, the film and television division of L’Équipe Spectra, is set to begin work on the new animated preschool series Toopy and Binoo. The show was developed and commissioned by Treehouse Original Prods. and is slated for a September 2005 debut.

Toopy and Binou is based on the Toupie and Binou lines of children’s books by Canadian author Dominique Jolin and published by Dominique et Compagnie, a division of Éditions Héritage. According to Spectra, the books have sold more than 150,000 copies.

The series will consist of 104 five-minute episodes offered as a 26×25 package. Raymond Leburn and Nicolas Lemay are directing with Dominique Mendel assuming producer duties.
