Bungie Studios Founder Pulls Wideload Games

Alexander Seropian, founder of Bungie Studios (Halo, Myth, Marathon) has announced the formation of Wideload Games Inc. (www.wideload.com), a new compnay dedicated to producing "unusual games for unusual people." In addition to veteran industry talent, Wideload boasts a unique development and production model.

Wideload team members design and create playable game prototypes in their Chicago lab. Once the prototype is approved, the company pulls together independent talent in the industry to complete the game’s production. Wideload will work with publishers and distributors to bring their final vision to gaming consumers.

"This is a variant of the model that’s been successful in film for quite some time," says Seropian. "We develop the intellectual property and put together the technology and production pipeline in-house. Then we leverage our team to manage a staff of independent talent."

Joining Seropian in the new venture are former senior Bungie programmers, artists and designers. Wideload’s first title, a game powered by the Halo engine, is in production and is expected to hit store shelves in 2005.
