It looks like DIC Entertainment’s tech-savvy Inspector Gadget is ready to test out his CG powers in Italy this spring. The new DIC/Mainframe Entertainment CG-animated feature Inspector Gadgets Biggest Caper Ever: The Case of the Flying Lizard will have its world premiere at the Cartoons on the Bay festival in Positano April 27 at 9:30 p.m.
In the Inspectors first CG-animated adventure, he finds himself protecting a much-wanted junior giant flying reptile. While Metro Citys mayor wants it for a tourist attraction, Inspector Gadget, his 16-year-old niece and her dog Brain, must rescue the egg from the clutches of the evil Dr. Claw.
In September 2003, DIC launched the DIC Kids Network, a unique syndicated programming block designed to meet core FCC requirements and the only network for kids that reaches effectively 100% of U.S. households on over 400 stations. DIC has one of the largest toon libraries of U.S. animation, including Inspector Gadget, Strawberry Shortcake, Sabrina, Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros. This fall, DIC will launch the much-anticipated new animated series, Trollz. Mainframe Entertainment is the Canadian CG house responsible for such hits as the ReBoot series and the international direct-to-DVD hits featuring Barbie, Barbie in Swan Lake and Barbie: Faerytopia.
