The Disney Channel has renewed Curious Pictures’ charming educational series Little Einsteins for a second season. Gary Marsh, entertainment president at Disney Channel Worldwide, made the announcement yesterday, praising the show’s encouragement of exploration and creative expression in preschoolers.
The worldly minded Little Einsteins from exec producer Eric Weiner (Dora the Explorer, JoJo’s Circus) hit the broadcast trail running last October when it scored the highest Playhouse Disney debut ever with the 2-5 age group. The show airs daily at 8 a.m, and has consistently beat out the competition in its time slot, ranking #1 with kids 2-5 and remaining Playhouse Disney’s top-rated series with that age group.
The property has started premiering around the world, most recently on the new Playhouse Disney Channels in Australia and New Zealand. Playhouse Disney France and Disney Channels in India and Taiwan are the next debut destinations for the show.
With richly colored 2D character animation blended with live-action footage, four remarkable children who each play their own instrument and an endless supply of exciting excursions across cultures and time in a marimba-voiced rocket, it’s no wonder Little Einsteins has captivated the preschool audience. Each highly interactive episode features noted works of world music, art and riddles and challenges that help develop early learning skills.
The show’s all-star development team featured The Baby Einstein Company, Playhouse Disney and acclaimed children’s television experts.
