RESFEST Sounds its Call

The innovative RESFEST film festival has issued a call for shorts, animation, design films and music videos for its 10th annual global tour. Selected works will be shown at 40 top venues across six continents, hitting hot spots all the way from S’o Paulo to Cape Town,Tokyo to Istanbul, New York to London, Sydney to Seoul, and each event will feature workshops, panel discussions, technology presentations, live music and parties. The 2006 program will take a retrospective look at the festival in honor of its 10th anniversary, looking at highlights from past editions such as award-winners, celebrity guests and director key-notes. Audience Choice and Jury Awards will be handed out at the tour’s close.

Aiming to bolster emerging talent and encourage cutting-edge projects, RESFEST will showcase films from all genres, including narrative, documentary, experimental and design-driven work, and forms, including live-action, animated and hybrid entries. Film submissions created in any format will be eligible for consideration, whether analog/digital video or projects crafted entirely on the computer. Innovation will be the guiding principle for evaluating entries.

Projects should have been produced within the last two years. The following submission formats are acceptable: VHS, DVD, miniDV and Beta SP (NTSC). The acceptable exhibition formats are miniDV, Digital Beta or Beta SP (NTSC preferred).

Early deadline for submissions is April 14, 2006 with a $25 entry fee. The late deadline is May 2, 2006 with a $30 entry fee.
