Burger King will be adding a dash of make-believe magic to its Kids Meals from late April to mid May with the help of the eccentric crew from Cartoon Network’s Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Kids can savor nine real toy versions of the imagined buddies with their tasty fries and nuggets, including Wind-N-Wobble Blooregard, Create a Face Eduardo and Fancy Feet Herriman.
As part of the promotion, Cartoon Network will be encouraging young creative brains to craft their own make-believe pals by mixing and matching heads, torsos, arms and legs from the extensive image library available at the ‘Gallery of Imagination’ on CartoonNetwork.com. They can submit their newly created comrade to the network, which will select several friends to appear in two 15 second spots to air during the Tommy and Tara hosted FRIDAYS block at 7 p.m. (ET) on May 5 and May 12. These new characters will also be selected at random to appear in an online gallery as part of a co-branded interactive website with Burger King on CartoonNetwork.com.
To kick off the Foster’s festivities, Cartoon Network will run a 30-second custom spot telling kids to head to CartoonNetwork.com and get cracking on their own brainchild buddies, and Burger King will create a co-branded 30-second national spot featuring all nine toys.
New episodes of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends will also be airing at the beginning of May during the Fridays block, which starts at 7 p.m.
