Game giant Sega has announced a significant partnership with Marvel Studios. According a report in the trades, the Japanese publisher has signed a deal to make games based on three of its upcoming films. The arrangement covers The Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Thor.
Upcoming title Iron Man and Hulk will be released day-and-date with the films, which will be distributed by Paramount next year. The deal reportedly gives Sega the right to make future games based on both characters regardless of whether there are film sequels. The company isn’t ruling out future deals, though it appears Sega now has a full slate of licensed games for the next few years.
“Part of our strategy over the last two years in rebuilding Sega has been to balance our portfolio with best-in-class licenses,” Sega of America president Simon Jeffery is quoted as saying. “Right now I’ve got to say we’re pretty happy with what we have accomplished.”
