MobiTV Teams up with Intel

MobiTV, Inc., a global leader in mobile and broadband television and music services, is entering into what it calls a ‘cooperation agreement’ with Intel Corporation. The two companies have agreed to work together to optimize the personal computing version of the MobiTV service for use on Intel Centrino processor technology notebooks, ultra mobile PCs and mobile Internet devices.

“We’re pleased to announce this collaboration with Intel to deliver a live television service optimized for Intel Notebooks and the new category of mobile internet-enabled devices,” says Ray DeRenzo, vice president of business development for MobiTV. “MobiTV and Intel will work with the OEMs to deliver a true out-of-the-box television experience.”

This year, Intel and MobiTV will work to develop, sell and distribute the MobiTV services that are optimized for Intel-based notebooks and other mobile devices. The two companies expect to work on next generation platforms and services to personalize and improve the user experience.
