Nick Gets Creepie

Taffy Entertainment and Nickelodeon International have reached a comprehensive agreement that will see the Emmy-nominated Growing Up Creepie on Nickelodeon schedules in early 2008 in Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

In a first-ever multi-business unit deal, the agreement also names Nickelodeon as Taffy’s licensing and merchandising agent in specified territories for the series. Nickelodeon is set to implement a consumer products campaign in key markets, including the UK, Germany, Benelux, Japan and Australia and video gaming in France. Taffy Entertainment will continue to handle licensing and merchandising in the rest of the world with the exception of the US where Discovery Channel holds the US broadcast, licensing and merchandising rights.

Growing Up Creepie has all the key attributes of humor, unique characters and strong storylines that appeal to our audience,’ says Jules Borkent, VP of programming at Nickelodeon International. ‘The show has already garnered quite a fan base in the US and we look forward to introducing it to Nickelodeon audiences around the world.’

The show has continued to build momentum and industry praise with, most recently, a nomination for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Animated Series Special Class. Creepie is produced by Mike Young Productions and Discovery Kids, in association with DAG Entertainment, Sunwoo Entertainment/Peach Blossom and, Telegael Teoranta. The program is also produced with the support of The Media Development Authority of Singapore and with the support of investment incentives for the Irish Film Industry provided by the Government of Ireland. The series airs on Discovery Kids in the U.S.
