Aniboom Makes U.S. Debut on YouTube

Multi-platform animation network Aniboom (www.aniboom.com) today officially announced its U.S. launch, which includes a branded animation Channel on ubiquitous viral video hub YouTube. The channel can be found at www.youtube.com/aniboom.

Through its annual animation contest, Aniboom has built a stable of 2,500 animators who are working to develop new properties for the company through its virtual Creator’s Studio. The cartoons will debut on the web, where surfer response will decide which ones are worth developing for television, mobile and other mediums. Aniboom’s library of original animation is also fed by visitors from around the world who create their own shorts using the company’s patented Animachines. These easy-to-use online animation tools allow visitors to animate high-quality content as a hobby or professional endeavor and share them with the rest of the Aniboom community.

“Aniboom is building a vibrant virtual studio that embraces animators from all walks of life and helps them navigate through the complex animation industry,’ says Uri Shinar, founder and president of Aniboom. ‘The exposure animators receive through showcasing their work on Aniboom is a tremendous boon to their careers in addition to the opportunities and connections we can offer them professionally.”

Micro-Smotion, the latest addition to the Animachines tool set, allows for the production of stop-motion using a web cam or other digital camera connected to the computer. It joins Shapeshifter, which provides basic shapes that can be sculpted to create characters and objects for 2D animation. The tool has generated more than 18,000 animations since its launch three months ago.

Shinar tells us he believes that the next South Park will emerge from the internet and he hopes it grows out of his ad-supported virtual studio. “As the animation industry continues to grow rapidly in the U.S., we are thrilled to provide our users with the opportunity to follow their passion at aniboom.com,” he remarks.

With a slate of online distribution partners currently on board, Aniboom is also forging partnerships with leading distributors of wireless, gaming, television and theatrical content to expose Aniboom content for a wide audience.
