Multi-platform animation network Aniboom (www.aniboom.com) is launching a branded ad-supported animation channel on JoostT (www.joost.com), a service that offers broadcast-quality Internet television. The Aniboom content will include original animated shorts created by animators who have pitched and produced projects as part of the Aniboom Creators Studio. Joost will support Aniboom’s mission to identify new animation talent by participating in its awards panel.
‘We are thrilled to include Joost as a valued distribution partner as we build a global network for unique independent animation,’ says Aniboom founder and president Uri Shinar. ‘Joost’s full-screen, broadcast-quality experience makes it the perfect platform to support our vibrant content and reach a wide untapped audience.’
‘Animation is a popular genre among our user base because its humor and creativity appeal to people around the world,’ adds Yvette Alberdingk Thijm, exec VP of content strategy and acquisition for Joost. ‘Joost offers a diverse array of programming from content owners large and small, and the world-class animation from Aniboom is a great addition to our offering.”
Among the cartoons to be offered on Aniboom’s Joost channel are Caroline Ting’s RAM, about a kid who becomes much too dependent on his laptop; Ricardo Werdesheim artistic stop-motion film Celestina; Sebastien Ho’s CG comedy Supermoine, about a Matrix-esque Monk who wards off invaders; Enrique Gato’s Indiana Jones homage Tadeo Jones; and Jossie Malis’ award-winning stylistic drama Bendito Machine.
