Cable network Comedy Central has greenlit a second season of the animated series Lil’ Bush, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new 10-episode order will continue the future president’s White House misadventures with pals Lil’ Condi, Lil’ Rummy and Lil’ Cheney.
Created and exec produced by Donick Cary, Lil’ Bush has been described as The Little Rascals with access to the A-Bomb. The kiddie versions of the current Republican regime squares off with such rivals as Lil’ Kim Jong-Il and Lil’ John Kerry. George Bush Sr., Barbra Bush and Jeb Bush are also poked fun at in the irreverent show.
Lil’ Bush started as a series of cell phone shorts that became an instant hit on Amp’d Mobile. Comedy central acquired the property and stretched the concept out to fit the half-hour format, drawing 1.5 million viewers with its premiere back in June.
The series is co-exec produced by Jay Karas (The Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show, Channel 101). Seth Cummings and Peter Adderton from Amp’d Mobile also serve as exec producers, while David Koga and Zoe Friedman are the execs in charge of production at Comedy Central.
