Wacom Adds Two Pen Tablets

Wacom Technology Corp. today announced the introduction of the Cintiq 12WX and Cintiq 20WSX, two new choices for direct pen-on-screen input for artists and animators. The Cintiq 12WX boasts a new low-profile, lightweight and flexible design and is made for professional digital content creators looking to improve and streamline their workflow. The Cintiq 20WSX is a wide-format desktop pen display that offers the same design elements and ergonomic enhancements as the Cintiq 21UX with the expanded 16:10 aspect ratio.

The Cintiq 12WX weighs just 4.4 pounds and offers slimline dimensions comparable to Wacom’s Intuos3 6×11 pen tablet. It is suitable for a variety of computer environments, especially those where users wish to work across multiple monitors, and works seamlessly with more than 100 software applications. Key features include a high-quality 12.1-inch TFT LCD wide-format display, ten customizable ExpressKeys, a display toggle function, a programmable touch strip, a cordless and battery-free Grip Pen and tilt functionality supported with angles of up to 60 degrees. The model carries an estimated retail price of $999 and comes with an adjustable stand that is completely integrated into the Cintiq’s body.

The Cintiq 20WSX features a 20.1-inch widescreen LCD (WSXGA+ 1680×1050 resolution) and the same intuitive design as the 21UX. An estimated street price of $1,999 sets a new benchmark for affordability, allowing a broader audience the option of working directly on screen with a Wacom pen.
