Ecko Game For Showtime’s Dexter

Showtime’s Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning serial killer show Dexter is soon to become a video game through a production agreement inked between Showtime Networks and Marc Ecko Ent. The two entities will work together to ensure that the interactive version strikes all the right notes with both series fans and gamers seeking some catharsis in hunting and killing people who have escaped justice.

Dexter revolves around Dexter Morgan, a forensic blood spatter expert who works for the Miami Dade Police Department but has little faith in the justice system. In his off time, he secretly goes after those he knows to be guilty and makes them pay with their lives. The show apparently has a strong fan base among gamers, especially after gaming website IGN.com named it 2007’s Best Television Program.

Dexter is the extremely rare TV show with enough layers of action and tension to translate perfectly into a compelling video game,’ says Marc Fernandez, VP of Marc Ecko Ent.'”Our game designers, writers and artists are going to give Dexter’s morally complex world the kind of interactivity that gamers will love.’

Marc Ecko Ent., the game unit of fashion and lifestyle company *ecko unltd., handled the production side of the popular 2005 game Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, and is currently working on an untitled project with developer Human Head. The Dexter game is in pre-production with a handful of developers in talks to bring it to fruition.
