The newly re-branded cable channel Disney XD got off to a solid launch, earning record ratings for the channel with its first original series, Aaron Stone.
The re-brand of Toon Disney began Friday with back-to-back airings of Stone starting at 7 p.m. The debut surpassed all Toon Disney debuts in kids 6-14 and scored best-ever levels for kids 6-14 and boys 6-14 in that time slot.
The broadcast, which included previews of upcoming series Jimmy Two Shoes and Kid vs. Kat, reached 6.5 million unduplicated total viewers and 2.6 million kids 6-14.
The ratings were an increase of more than double the audience of the same timeslot a year ago.
