Konami’s Metalocalypse: Dethgame Due this Fall

Metal faithful rejoice! Konami and Adult Swim have announced the development of Metalocalypse: Dethgame, coming this fall to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Players assume the role of Klokateers, loyal roadies to the world’s greatest metal band, Dethklok, and are unleashed upon the band’s rabid mutant fans. The game will feature the music of Dethklok, including three new songs from the upcoming ‘Dethklok 2’ album, due out later this fall.

The game was co-created by Brendan Small, co-creator of the Metalocalpyse series and, before that, the cult animated series Home Movies.

“We have gone above and beyond and found the biggest nerds in the industry to help develop and deliver what will without a doubt be the most successful downloadable cartoon death metal game in recorded history,” said Small. “I defy anyone to find another death metal cartoon that can claim the same. I think the most important thing to remember beyond the record-setting CD sales, and astounding ratings and growing rabid fans around the world, is that this game is going to be a blast to play. I am very excited to be a part of making video games metal.”

Developed by Frozen Codebase, Metalocalypse: Dethgame is slated for release in Q4 2009. For more information on Metalocalypse: Dethgame, please visit: www.konami.com/metalocalypse.
