Multiplatform entertainment outlet qubo has announced five new animated series for children to begin this fall.
The programs will air on both the Spanish and English versions of qubo Channel, and on qubo’s blocks on ION Television, NBC and Telemundo. Qubo was formed in 2006 by ION Media Networks, Scholastic, NBC Universal and Corus Entertainment Media to offer dynamic content in multiple environments.
The programs are:
Shelldon, a Yoka Star Shell who lives under the sea and finds himself and his friends in strange situations that require honesty, teamwork and caring for the environment to get out of. Produced by Shellhut Entertainment and distributed by Classic Media, the series makes its world television premiere on Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. on ‘qubo on ION TV.’ It also will air Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. in Spanish on ‘qubo on Telemundo’ and Saturdays at noon on ‘qubo on NBC.’ It then will premiere on qubo Channel on Oct. 31 at 12:30 p.m. and will air weekly on Saturdays and Sundays on qubo Channel at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Willa’s Wild Life is a series about a 6-year-old collector of animals and pets, based on author Dan Yaccarino’s picture book An Octopus Followed Me Home. Produced by Nelvana, Willa’s Wild Life is a U.S. premiere series that will air regularly Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. on ‘qubo on ION TV’; Saturdays at 11 a.m. on ‘qubo on NBC’; Sundays at 9 a.m. in Spanish on ‘qubo on Telemundo’; and Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on qubo Channel.
Rescue Heroes is a Nelvana series about a team of emergency response professionals who protect people all over the world. The new series will air exclusively on qubo Channel Mondays-Fridays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays with two back-to-back episodes airing from 2-3 p.m. and 8-9 p.m., starting Oct. 26.
Pippi Longstocking, a new animated take on the classic children’s book star produced by Nelvana. The series airs exclusively on qubo Channel Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each day.
And another Nelvana production, Pearlie is about a pink fairy who takes care of Jubilee Park with her friends. Based on the book by Wendy Hammer, the show is a U.S. premiere and airs exclusively on qubo Channel Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
