DQE Develops Animated Chaplin Shorts

DQ Entertainment in India is developing a series of short, 3D-animated animated shorts based on the films and characters of silent film star Charlie Chaplin.

The project calls for 104 six-minute episodes, which will be produced for $11.5 million and distributed by DQ in collaboration with French firms Method Animation and MK2.

The episodes will be made in color and will be made without dialog and an emphasis on music and sound design.

‘This is history in the making as the partnership with MK2 and our own long term co-production partners Method Animation, Paris, will bring the legendary entertainer Charlie Chaplin back to life in a fantastic ‘Animated Avatar,” says Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman and CEO of DQ Entertainment.
