Animated Feature Deadline for Oscars is Nov. 1

The deadline is nigh for films looking to qualify for the animated feature film category for the 83rd annual Academy Awards.

Entries and supporting materials must be submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by 5 p.m. PT on Monday, Nov. 1. The deadline to submit the accompanying film prints is Nov. 12.

Complete rules are available online at www.oscars.org/rules or by contacting Wil Goldenberg via phone at (310) 247-3000, ext. 190, by fax at (310) 247-2600, or by e-mail at wgoldenberg@oscars.org.

The list of qualifying films will be made by mid-November, answering one of the big questions about this year’s race: whether enough films qualify for there to be five nominees in the category instead of three.

Nominations are set to be announced Jan. 25, with the winners unveiled in the televised gala ceremony Feb. 27.
