We are pleased to announce that artist/illustrator Erin Koehler is the winner of Hinge Digital’s inaugural “Bringing your World to Life” character design contest. As part of her prize, Koehler wins a Wacom Intuos4, Luxology modo and an article in the next issue of Animation Magazine.
Koehler, received her BFA with an emphasis in illustration from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and shown at the New York Society of Illustrators. She has also worked as a concept artist for Vancouver’s Rainmaker Studio and has been a freelance illustrator for a wide variety of clients. Animation and vfx studio Hinge Digital launched the contest in December to inspire artists, designers and writers for any background to submit original story ideas and corresponding character designs. The contest builds on Hinge Digital’s momentum in developing projects from the graphic novel and creature-feature genres, and serves as an opportunity for creatives to showcase their own unique visions. The contest submission could be from any story genre and any creative level or background. The only requirement was that the submissions needed to be original and compelling.
