Moonscoop is bringing back its art-based preschooler series Ava Riko Teo for a second season.
The order will see the production of 39 seven-minute episodes, with delivery set for the first quarter of 2012.
The series is a co-production between Moonscoop and Korea’s Character Plan and EBS in association with Seoul Animation Center and with the participation of France Television. The first season of Ava Riko Teo aired in 170 territories.
“This is a unique series, not only in terms of the paper cut out animation style, but also how the series inspires kids to be creative at home, supported by the dedicated Ava Riko Teo website,” said Lionel Marty, president worldwide distribution for Moonscoop. “Arts and craft is an important activity in the development of preschool kids and older, and we’re very pleased to be producing more episodes of a series that enhances this learning.”
Based on the works of French author and artist Mila Boutan, Ava Riko Teo is created using a colorful onscreen assembling of all kinds of paper cutouts, which become the setting for young viewers to follow the adventures of Teo, a soft and cuddly bear; Ava, a giraffe; and Riko, a rather hyper-active rabbit.
A dedicated website at www.avarikoteo.com continues the experience for viewers with a full range of art and craft activities for children. The online component has been co-produced by Moonscoop with EBS and France 5.
