Courtenay Palaski has been promoted to VP of public relations for Turner Broadcasting System’s Animation Young Adults and Kids Media Group, which covers Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang.
In her expanded role, Palaski will oversee development and implementation of the public relations efforts surrounding all series programs for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. Palaski is based in Los Angeles and reports directly to James Anderson, senior VP of public relations for the Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media Group. She also will working closely with the executives and creators at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank and Williams Street Studios in Atlanta.
Previously, Palaski served as senior director of public relations at Cartoon Network, where she played a key role in generating media coverage for the creation of Cartoon Network Studios, the launch of the Adult Swim late-night network and successful publicity campaigns for such award-winning, original animated series as Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Ben 10, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Teen Titans, Chowder, Generator Rex and Firebreather.
Additionally, she helped to create PR launch campaigns for Adult Swim original properties, including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tom Goes to the Mayor, The Venture Bros. and Metalocalypse.
Before starting with Cartoon Network in 1998, Palaski worked in development at TNT and then in publicity for Turner Pictures. Prior to Turner Broadcasting, Palaski worked at the Samuel Goldwyn Company and The New Yorker.
An east coast native, Palaski earned a bachelor of arts degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
