Disney’s going all out to make this the summer of Phineas and Ferb.
The popular animated series is getting an original animated movie titled Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, premiering Aug. 5 on Disney Channel and followed by airings Aug. 13 on Disney XD and Aug. 20 on ABC. The soundtrack, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 1st and 2nd Dimensions, from Walt Disney Records, will debut Aug. 2. A two-disc Ultimate Fan Pack including a DVD, digital copy of the movie, eight digital music tracks, eight deleted scenes, a bonus episode with character and filmmaker commentary and more, will be available Aug. 23.
The pair also will be featured in new episodes of their regular show and new episodes of their talk show, Take Two with Phineas and Ferb, with guests David Beckham, Selena Gomez, Larry King, Howie Mandel, Jason Segel and Shawn White.

To promote all this, Disney has announced Perry the Platy-bus On Tour, outfitting a customized, 27-foot Airstream trailer as the show’s teal-colored pet. The bus will be unveiled July 11 in New York City and begin a journey across the United States to appear July 21-24 at Comic-Con International: San Diego and Aug. 19-21 at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif.
“Phineas and Ferb is a super hit and we’re taking it to the next level, with a movie in spectacular 2D, that’s right, no fancy 3D glasses here – just the adventure of a lifetime as Phineas and Ferb tackle a whole new dimension,” said Gary Marsh, president, entertainment and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. “With the Perry the Platy-bus On Tour and much more, we’re looking forward to answering the perennial question, ‘Where’s Perry?’ and delighting fans driving on the highways and byways this summer.”
Additional new Phineas and Ferb projects include The Movie Game: The Dimension of Doooom!, and a 2D Yourself activity that will begin rolling out June 17 on the new Phineas and Ferb sections of DisneyChannel.com and DisneyXD.com; a video game inspired by the movie for the Wii, Nintendo DS handheld systems and Sony PlayStation 3; a special junior novel, joke and novelty book and an official 96-page magazine will be available July 27 via Disney Publishing Worldwide.
Also, this month, Disney’s California Adventure and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios will debut Phineas and Ferb: We’re Making a Movie, an interactive live entertainment experience starring Phineas and Ferb. And Disney Theatrical Group will introduce Disney’s Phineas and Ferb: The Best LIVE Tour EVER!, a live touring stage show produced by Feld Entertainment that will play more than 80 locations across the country, beginning Aug. 21 in Lakeland, Fla.
