Key ‘Transformers,’ ‘G.I. Joe’ Documents to Be Auctioned

If you’re a fan of the classic animated series Transformers and G.I. Joe — and you have a lot of disposable cash on hand — you’ll want to mark Aug. 18 on your calendar as Heritage Auctions puts some key behind-the-scenes documents from those series on the block.

The documents come from the archive of producer Roger Slifer, and include the rarely seen Transformers Series Bible, containing virtually every pertinent detail of the main characters, from Optimus Prime to Megatron, and storylines of the series.

Slifer’s archive also includes documents from the G.I. Joe cartoon, for which he was also the animation studio’s supervising producer..

Slifer was a writer on the original G.I. Joe cartoon series and later became Sunbow Productions’ supervising producer of Transformers, G.I. Joe Extreme and other shows. In addition to his work on hundreds of hours of TV series programming, he is known to comic book fans for being the co-creator of Lobo, as well as other work for Marvel and DC.
