Fans were treated to a new trailer and poster for Red Tails, director Anthony Hemingway’s much-anticipated feature about the Tuskegee Airman, today via MTV.com. Starring Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Cuba Gooding Jr., Ne-Yo and Nate Parker, the movie tells the true story of the brave segregated black pilots who were given second-date planes and deadly missions during World War II. Red Tails has been a favorite project for George Lucas, who began developing the film back in 1988. John Ridley delivered the film’s scrip in 2007 and Hemingway (Treme, Falling Skies) signed up to direct in 2008. Needless to say, the film will feature state-of-the-art CG effects, courtesy of the team at ILM and vfx supervisor Russell Earl (Star Trek). 20th Century Fox will release the movie on January 20, 2012.
