Skyreader’s ‘Giant Trouble’ Hits App Store

Skyreader Media, the eReading division of Canada’s Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group revealed it’s latest eBook, Giant Trouble, is now available for Apple’s iPad, as CEO Kevin Gillis announced.

The story follows Finn McCool, the biggest giant in Ireland, and his wife Oona who saves Finn from Cucullin, the toughest giant in Scotland, with her crafty wits. Giant Trouble is written to engage reluctant readers while encouraging self confidence, while the story teaches children how to deal with social issues such as bullying that they may face on the schoolyard.

“Giant Trouble is an engaging tale presented in a highly interactive format which offers a fresh approach to literature and delivers on our mission to entice children to read with entertaining stories. It’s a perfect story to tempt young readers who may be reluctant to pick up a book over the summer break,” said Gillis.

These interactive features, created with the patent-pending Skyreader technology platform, include customizable reading modes: Auto Read, Read To Me and Read Myself; touch-triggered surprise actions from characters and environments; lively animations with touchscreen capabilities; and performances by leading voice actors. The eBook is priced at $4.99 in the App Store.
